About Me
Bienvenidos! I’m Leticia Anaya, a
nutritionist empowering individuals with the knowledge that food is medicine. I am passionate about culinary nutrition, sustainability, gardening, and increasing access to healthy food.
There is no shame in finding true pleasure in food and embracing it. Doing so could help lead to healthy choices. Consciously nourishing ourselves is an act of love. We desire food that is both delicious AND beneficial to our bodies, minds, and souls – let’s honor that!
I focus on sustainable weight management, type II diabetes, high cholesterol, and older adult care. I help clients master the basics in and out of the kitchen and support their progress at a pace that feels authentic to them. With a Master of Science in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine, my academic journey has prepared me to thoroughly understand food science and the biochemical processes involved in disease. While my approach to nutrition integrates science-based functional knowledge and research, I also believe it is important for individuals to embrace flexibility and spontaneity.
My Story
I come from a family of excellent cooks. While my parents worked, I had the privilege of always being cared for by aunts and grandmas. This gifted me with the opportunity to witness the preparation of various traditional Mexican dishes. My maternal grandmother made flour tortillas, beans, and her infamous green salsa every day - It was divine! Both of my grandmothers prided themselves on working with fresh herbs and vegetables and making foods from scratch. These experiences set the foundation for my love affair with cooking.
